A little bit of snow doesn’t stop EFD from training. Yesterday members of E6/L3 brushed up on Firefighter CPR This is in case of a Firefighter going into cardiac arrest during a fire. Each member has an assigned task in order efficiently remove the downed firefighters tank and coat, so that quality CPR can be performed. Cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of deaths among firefighters.

8 Coakley Cr is part of a complex set to be torn down to make way for new apts. Thanks to the few residents who still live here and years of Pre planing, this was a quick knock down by Tour 2.

Today marks the 11th anniversary of EFD’s last Line of Duty Death, Gary Stephens, The Gentle Giant. For many of us Gary’s death is still fresh in our minds. FF Stephens was last assigned to Engine 2. His final call was Box 2215 at 335 Marshall St.
